I took it out Sunday afternoon and tested it against the Taylor Made r7 460 10.5 that I currently use (and am quite happy with most of the time).

The Hi Cor's best drive was just a couple of yards beyond the longest r7, and the other few were right up there. It felt really solid.

I am currently on a 15 handicap and shoot low 80's on a good day, mid to upper 80's on a not-so-good day. Have broken 80 just a couple of times in the last 12 months.

Yesterday, (Monday) was a large Vets golf day in our local area ( Vets being golfers over the age of 55 - I am 64 years old). Over 100 players. Without too much expectation, I decided to toss the r7460 out of the bag for the day and go with the Hi Cor.

At the end of the round I had a 76 off the stick, and that included 2 x three putt greens. I won the competition for the day and the trophy. Naturally I am still buzzing as the best previous score I can recall was a 74 on a par 70 course in San Diego about 11 years ago (not under competition, just a practice round).

Now I would not try to tell you that the Hi Cor was the ONLY factor in this, but it sure makes a good score more easily attainable when you are hitting approach shots from the short grass.

The shaft, the True Temper Matrx, which I did not even know existed, gives the most feedback of any shaft I have ever hit. I swear you can feel the slight "give" in it at impact just seems to tell you the ball is going pretty straight even on slightly off center hit.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding, the result is you have one happy customer. And in case my golf buddies start asking, have you got any more Hi Cor heads lying around (left or right)?

As a UK resident buying from abroad for a custom specification was a worry. I got myself fitted up and took my measurements away to shop around. On shopping around I found McLain Golf, offering a good selection of irons for your low handicapper. I also saw all the awards he won, the most outstanding being top ten clubmaker in the world!! Well lets say he did not disappoint. The clubs were both bang on custom wise and perfect, just perfect, everything was as required and ordered not one single fault or problem. The clubs arrived perfectly boxed and conditioned and the communication between Jim and myself was better than the communication I would have got from someone in the UK, his service is faultless, he is different from your main brand, he is always in contact, the clubs are perfectly made, there is a personal touch which you just fail to get with the major manufacturers. I have played three rounds with these clubs so far, one shocker but a good worker never blames his tools but himself and the other two rounds have been sub par so I am over the moon. Much recommended, he will be receiving my order for my next set of irons for sure!!

I just wanted to give you an update on how they are doing. The clubs fit like a glove and look great, you fitted them to me perfect. My game has turned around, last year in golf league my lowest score was a 46 for 9 holes. This year my highest is a 46 I went from A 12 handicap to a 7. I know it's not just the clubs but me working on my game and my swing, but when you have clubs the fit correctly it makes things a lot easier. Also for the first time in 10 years I shot under 90 for 18 holes on a difficult golf course 87!!!!. I also have had a lot of people look at the clubs and comment on how nice they look and I always tell them where I purchased them. Again thank you very much you have helped me enjoy the game again. .

Got the set of clubs and was pleased with what I saw....but the proof is in the putting etc. (oops, I already have a putter). Got a brief try on the range and they felt OK. Finally got out today on the tough Chateau course here at Chateau Elan. No one in front or behind so I could relax and try them out..............and I love them. Still adapting, but.....
Only broke 100 once, a 99, over 3 years here, and am usually between 105-115. I have just lost everything....swing, focus, length, distance...you name it. So what if I'm 75. It still p---es me off!
1. Love the larger grips. They simply fit and feel better.
2. Happy to have a set where all shafts are matched and so is the swing.
3. Driver is longer by about 20+yards.
4.Realized a significant error in my grip and now hit them much
straighter and under control. Looking forward to another 20 yds. soon.
One round does not a golfer make, but I am so much more comfortable and confident that I now look forward to the game.
FIRST TIME OUT AN SHOT A 97 WITH 3 3-PUTTS.
I am looking forward to 95 and then 90. Gee....It was fun.
My back was killing me on the back?? nine, but I was still grinning.
